We are more than a gym. We are a community of individual students and trainers who celebrate the long-held traditions of athletic competition and boxing to balance the rest of life. Our classes run from 3-5 pm every day after school for ages 12 to 18.

As a leading youth-focused nonprofit organization, our passions are and always will be the development and empowerment of our student boxers.

mission

Revere Boxing Outreach aims to provide a supportive environment for all underprivileged individuals in our community. We work towards a common goal of fitness, discipline, and training that molds individuals into healthy, exemplary citizens, and physical champions within themselves. We do this by providing a venue to showcase their accomplishments and talents.

Meet Our Youth
Coach Team

Every one of our instructors comes from a similar background of skill, talent, discipline, and passion for boxing. Together, we help students reduce stress and find the courage to overcome challenges in life.

Joe Singer

Joe Singer

SRO

A 2000 RHS graduate and U.S. Marine veteran. He has been a member of the RPD since 2006 and has served as the SRO for Revere Public Schools for the past six years. Officer Singer’s boxing career began in High School when he was mentored by a member of the JCC. There, he first saw the impact of boxing by seeing how some of the quietest kids in school were also the toughest boxers in the ring.

Even through Officer Singer’s military career, boxing provided a sense of focus, grounding him to life goals and helping him grow into a thriving community member today. His motivation to help other students find that fire inside motivates them to do better and has helped build the Revere Boxing Outreach Program

Tyler D’Angelo

Revere Fire Fighter

Tyler D’Angelo went to Revere High School and graduated in 2014. With her family roots tied to the City of Revere, she decided that she wanted to maintain a career to benefit the city. She is currently a Revere Firefighter and EMT. Tyler has also been a part of the Massachusetts Army National Guard for over 8 years and currently serves as a Staff Sergeant for the Recruiting and Retention Battalion, helping Soldiers prepare to be shipped off to Basic Training. Understanding the younger generation and being able to communicate with them has repeatedly been her strong suit. Tyler has been passionate about helping and supporting her community in any way that she can.

Tyler has always loved sports, but in 2019 she fell in love with boxing after a severe knee injury that required two surgeries. She says that it has taught her more than just how to be in shape and defend herself. It taught her patience, discipline, strength, and endurance, both physically and mentally. Tyler has even noticed that the sport sheds light on the smaller aspects in life, that you don’t notice on a regular basis. Boxing has helped her accomplish goals, both intellectual and physical. Tyler was asked by her coach at the time to participate in a fight hosted by the MA State Police, representing her fire department. She triumphed and won her fight after a short time spent training, which showed her and her peers that anything was possible. The sport helped her get back on her feet much faster than any doctor thought she could. Tyler’s love for the sport is reflected in her unconditional commitment as a coach, and to the time and effort, it requires of her. As she continues to do this, she has found that the kids she works with have made her love boxing even more and grow an appreciation for the sport that she never had before. Now she knows that she is meant to mentor and teach these kids, so they will have all the patience, discipline, strength, and endurance to conquer their own goals.
